Two different things. Without connecting anything, Cole can email you: say "email me this list" and it sends it from Cole's own address to the email on your account. With your Gmail connected, Cole can search and read your inbox, write emails, and send them from your own Gmail address to anyone you name.

Cole is set up to confirm who an email is going to before it sends from your Gmail. If you want to read every draft first, say so ("show me before you send") and Cole waits for your reply. If you tell it to send a batch of emails, it sends the batch without asking again for each one. Cole never sends text that looks like a password or a secret key.

Sending from your own address is built for Gmail today. Without Gmail, Cole can still email you from its own address, and you can forward emails to Cole to ask about them.

Yes. Each person gets their own Cole address. Forward an email to it from your own address and Cole treats it as a request: "summarise this thread" or "what's the deadline in here?" Email that reaches your Cole address from anyone else is passed on to you, not acted on.

Yes, two ways. Ask for a reminder at a set time ("remind me Thursday if I haven't heard from Sarah"), or, with Gmail connected, ask Cole to watch your inbox: it checks for new mail matching a search, such as messages from Sarah, and tells you when one arrives. Inbox watches last up to three weeks by default and run from your private chat.

Emailing yourself works in private chats, not in group chats or scheduled tasks, up to 5 emails in 10 minutes and 20 a day. Subjects can be up to 200 characters and bodies up to 20,000.

With Gmail connected, yes. Ask "did the bank send me anything this week?" or "find the flight confirmation from last month" and Cole searches your inbox and answers in the chat. It can draft a reply to what it finds and attach a file it made, such as a PDF or a spreadsheet.

Without connecting anything: "email me a list of everything I asked you to remember this week." With Gmail: "write a polite follow-up to the last email from Sarah and show me before you send."

Yes. Ask for a report, spreadsheet or deck and then "email it to me" or, with Gmail connected, "send it to the team from my address." The file goes as an attachment, and Cole checks before a repeat send so the same email does not go out twice.

An email Cole sends to you costs 3 credits, refunded if it fails to send. Sending from Gmail also uses credits, and reading your inbox costs less than sending. The Free plan gives you 150 credits once, with no card. Paid plans start at $19 a month with 2,000 credits.
