1. What Is Cole?
Summary
Cole is an AI assistant you message in WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, LINE, Slack or email. It handles reminders, email, calendar, research and, on paid plans, phone calls.
Cole is the AI assistant Pocodot makes. You message Cole the way you would message a person, in your own language, and Cole replies in it.
Cole works in 7 channels: WhatsApp, Slack, LINE, Telegram, iMessage, email and voice calls (paid plans), plus the web chat. Microsoft Teams is coming soon; Cole does not work in Teams yet.
2. Talking to Cole
Summary
Message Cole through any connected channel or use the web chat at /cole/chat. All conversations appear in a unified inbox.
The primary way to interact with Cole is by sending messages - just like texting a colleague. You can:
- Send a message on any connected channel (WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, LINE, or iMessage)
- Use the web chat at
/cole/chatto message Cole right from your browser - Ask Cole to research, draft, schedule, summarize or remind you
Every conversation - regardless of which channel it started on - is visible in the Conversations inbox. This gives you a single place to review history, pick up where you left off, and track what Cole is working on.
3. Connecting Channels
Summary
Sign up, then connect WhatsApp, Slack, LINE, Telegram, or iMessage so you can message Cole from the tools you already use.
Sign up with an email address or a Google account. The dashboard then opens WhatsApp, iMessage or Telegram with a one-time code already typed, or adds Cole on LINE (@pocodot). Send the code and Cole replies in that chat. To add another channel later:
- Go to Integrations
- Select the channel you want to connect (e.g., WhatsApp)
- Follow the setup instructions - most channels connect in under a minute
- Send your first message to Cole on that channel
You can connect multiple channels at once. Link them to the same Pocodot account and your private chats with Cole share context, so you can start a conversation in your private WhatsApp chat and continue it in your private Slack chat. Each group keeps its own messages and notes.
4. Cole in Group Chats
Summary
Add Cole to a WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, iMessage or Slack group. Cole answers when someone tags it (on Telegram, tag @Cole_chief_of_staff_bot or reply to it), and follows the rules you set.
Add Cole to a WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, iMessage or Slack group like any other participant. On WhatsApp, LINE and Slack, Cole answers when someone tags it or calls it by name; in iMessage, start your message with “Cole,”. On Telegram, tag @Cole_chief_of_staff_bot or reply to one of its messages. On WhatsApp, a follow-up question right after Cole's answer does not need a new tag.
- Group rules - set them in the group, for example “Cole, from now on only answer when someone asks you a question”
- From your private chat - turn Cole off in one group, set a monthly credit limit per person in your WhatsApp groups, or have Cole post a message in a group
For the line to send for each, see What Cole can do.
5. Commands to Try
Summary
There are no special commands: write to Cole in plain words. These lines work as written.
Cole has no command syntax to learn. Write what you want in plain words. Each of these lines works as written:
- Reminders: “remind me tomorrow at 9 to call the accountant”
- Scheduled reports: “every morning at 7 send me the weather in London”
- Email and calendar: “connect my email” (Cole sends you the link for Gmail, Google Calendar or Outlook)
- Pages and files: “make it a page” after a long list, or “make me a Word file with this letter”
- Voice: send a voice note; for a spoken answer on WhatsApp, write “reply by voice”
- Phone calls (paid plans): “call the hotel and confirm my booking for Friday”
- Credits: “how many credits do I have left?”
For every line Cole understands, see What Cole can do.
6. Limits
Summary
Phone calls need a paid plan and reach the US, the UK and Thailand. Free credits are one-time. Microsoft Teams is not live yet.
- Phone calls need a paid plan. Cole calls numbers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Thailand, confirms the number and the purpose before it dials, and saves the summary and transcript to Call History.
- Credits: the Free plan gives 150 credits, one time, with no daily reset. Paid plans add credits every month. If an action fails, you do not pay for it. See pricing.
- Email: Cole asks you before anything goes out in your name.
- Telegram groups: Cole sees only the messages addressed to it, such as a tag or a reply to one of its messages.
- Microsoft Teams is coming soon. Cole does not work in Teams yet.
